Leadership Academy Martial Arts inspires children and adults to be more confident, disciplined, focused, and respectful in their every day lives. Through teaching Self Defense, Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo, and Fitness Classes, Leadership Academy has a class for all ages (4 yrs old and up) to help you be the best version of yourself through martial arts training and fitness.

Martial Arts Programs

Group Classes give you a vast range of training partners to work with. If private lessons will help you fine tune your skills, group classes will challenge yourself against others who are all working toward the same goals. in this “healthy competition’ environment, students are encouraged to help push each other respectfully and perform at their personal best.

We have several class options including Preskillz, Basics, Intermediate, Advanced, Sparring/Forms, and Self Defense Classes.

Jiu Jitsu/Self Defense

Jiu Jitsu is a Complete Self Defense system developed by Grand Master Helio Gracie and uses chokes, joint locks, controlling positions, throws, and strikes.

The techniques are based on leverage and correct body positioning, not strength!

The Jiu Jitsu way of life promotes a healthy life style from eating habits, virtues, and self defense techniques and physical conditioning, and is the most complete and efficient Martial Art in the world, with patience and proper technique, not strength, being key.

Private Lessons

One of the fastest ways to develop skill in any of our programs is 1 on 1. During this private training, we can focus on many different aspects of your training. Kicking, Boxing, Flexibility, Strength and Conditioning, Poomsae/Forms, Sparring, proper technique, Self Defense…etc.

The Private lesson is tailored to you. We fit the shoe to the foot, not the foot to the shoe. We strive to understand what your personal goals are and then we can use martial arts training as a vehicle to help you reach these goals.

Taekwondo

Leadership Academy’s Youth Program focuses on the physical, emotional and mental well being, as well as the education of our children. It is “Education for Life.” Firstly, we provide our young students with the most powerful defensive skills so they will be ready to stand up against bullies. In addition, we assist our students with the development of characteristics and skills they will need in order to live a happy and balanced life. Our young pupils develop confidence, discipline, courage, responsibility, and leadership among other important values. We promote non-violent resolutions to conflict.

Leadership Academy’s Youth Program focuses a great deal of attention to the development of self-esteem. A good self-image is the basis of a well functioning, happy and successful child.

Our curriculum integrates physical education and self-defense techniques with conditioning and skill oriented games aimed at improving your child’s coordination, motor skills, agility and flexibility. Every instructor receives training in our unique teaching methodology, enabling them to deliver learning through dynamic interaction with the children, using a variety of approaches that meet the various learning types of individual children, whether visual, kinesthetic or auditory. I have been attending the women’s Leadership Fitness classes for a little over 2 years now. I could barely do 10 sit ups when I started, after having had 4 surgeries on my abdomen over the years. I can now do so much more than that! The support the women in the classes give each other in our common struggle to get fit and be better is very uplifting. I am a much stronger, fitter and healthier person than I was 2 years ago and I have the Leadership Academy to thank for pushing me to my best potential. The classes are fun, the instructors are very knowledgeable and really and truly care about each and every one of us and helping us to reach our goals.

❝Hi there… so I have to say I have never really seen any other black belt testing besides ours. I witnessed one recently. All I have to say is wow…what you have students go through to EARN our belts is amazing in comparison to what I witnessed. It was only 1.5 hours. The board breaks they did are the breaks you make kids do to EARN a green belt. Side kick, palm strike, axe kick. They’ve been testing over the course of 8 weeks during class and that was their test. Yesterday was an exhibition. I know that they’re different disciplines, but I couldn’t believe what I was seeing as a test for a black belt. No matter how hard that test was, I can feel confident that we were pushed and made to persevere. There was none of that…no complete exhaustion and still having to spar. Anyway I just wanted to say how proud I am of what you do and push your students to do…and make us earn our belt rather than just to push through to make room for more students. That may not be what they did, but green belts at Leadership academy could take on black belts at this dojo and show them up. Ok back to work! Have a great day! I just wanted to share.❞
